Abstract
Multi-infarct dementia(MID)ls a dementing condition produced by cerebral ischemic injury and a heterogenous entity in which a variety of cerebrovascalar disorders are involved. On examination, MID patients exhibit a combination of motor abnormalities, neuropsychological deficits, and neuropsychiatric symptoms. Neuropsychiatric abnormalities are frequent in MID : personality changes, depression, lability of mood, and delusions occur regularly, but personality changes are the most common alteration. Thus clinicians may be confused by these neuropsychiatric symptoms. The purpose of this paper is to report two cases of multi-infarct dementia associated with neuropsychiatric symptoms and to review relating literature.
